Biotech industry veteran responsible for advancing AI and HPC capabilities used to accelerate the drug discovery process. Vassilios combines a strong science background with over 20 years of hands-on experience engineering world class scientific computing environments for top Pharmaceutical and Biotech organizations. Vassilios started his career as a molecular biologist at Harvard Medical School where he authored several papers in the field of immunology. He quickly transitioned into the field of bioinformatics where he developed numerous applications used in gene discovery before moving on to a start-up biotech company where he led all aspects of the IT infrastructure for a fast-growing company. Today he sets the strategy for HPC, Cloud, and AI to help digitize drug discovery using advanced scientific computing capabilities supporting R&D at Pfizer globally. Vassilios holds a BS in Biology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an MS in Informatics from Northeastern University.
