Brian McDermott is a Principal R&D Engineer at Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) in Schenectady, NY, and focuses on developing and delivering emerging technologies in support of the US Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. Brian holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and is a former research reactor operator. Brian has broad, multidisciplinary experience in experimental physics, high performance computing, and scientific instrumentation development.
