DeFi everywhere - How can financial insitutions and corporates drive the rise of tokenization and digital identity?

Institutional participation in Decentralized Finance (DeFi) has dramatically scaled up over the past few months. As the total value locked (TVL) in DeFi tracks towards $50 billion (and with 40 of that 50 entering since early November of last year), it’s evident that the market has evolved beyond hobbyists and early adopters. This session will look in detail at what this means for financial institutions and enterprises who are the early adopters; is this a nice to have or proving a path to profitability and increased productivity. We close the conference looking at the contentious issue of ESG (Environmental, Social & Corporate Governance); whether an environmentally friendly blockchain is feasible, and how this needs to be the future focus of the industry.

DeFi  everywhere – how can financial institutions and corporates drive the rise of tokenization and digital identity?

  • Does DeFi provide a risk or opportunity to financial institutions and enterprises more generally?
  • Is DeFi secure?
  • Will the revolution be tokenized? Or is the technology a solution in search of a problem?
  • In the intersection of technology and governance; how can one disentangle blockchain’s promise from reality?
  • What role does ESG play in helping or hindering the rise to mass blockchain adoption?
