Dr Jacob Mendel

Head of Cryptography & Cybersecurity, MD State Street

Dr. Mendel is the Head of Cryptography & Cybersecurity at State Street and a senior lecturer at the Coller School of Management, Tel Aviv University. Previously, he served as General Manager of the Cybersecurity Center of Excellence at Intel and as Head of Cybersecurity Studies at the Coller School of Management. Dr. Mendel is also the CEO and Co-Founder of SCsquare Ltd., where he established a global business focused on advanced cybersecurity technologies.

Dr. Mendel holds 23 patents in Cybersecurity, ML/AI, and Blockchain. A serial cybersecurity entrepreneur, his career uniquely blends extensive practical experience with deep research expertise. His work spans cybersecurity offensive projects, R&D, secure systems, digital rights management (DRM), key management, and security certifications (CC, FIPS, EMV). His technical expertise includes AI/ML, generative AI, LLMs, penetration testing, reverse engineering, and blockchain.

His academic research focuses on the economic aspects of cybersecurity attacks, post-quantum cryptography, secure multiparty computation (SMPC), key management, fully homomorphic encryption (FHE), and blockchain technology, with special emphasis on cybersecurity attacks, privacy concerns, and business continuity under cyber-attacks (BCP/DR).
