Head of Risk Freemarket

Donald Milligan is the Head of Risk at Freemarket having been there for just over a year leading on the build-out of the GRC Framework. Donald has a Degree in Risk Management and prior to Freemarket has worked in senior positions across several major institutions.

Donald’s roles have ranged from 1st line risk roles embedded in the business dealing with day-to-day risks and issues through to 2nd line roles setting the framework for big corporates and tech companies. Donald has also worked in several other roles across the Fraud & Financial Crime, Compliance, Audit and COO space to develop a broad range of Risk Management skills. He has worked at Lloyds Banking Group, Gartmore, Société Générale, Barclays and Babylon Health.

He’s built teams from the ground up to managing teams of over 70. His specialist areas include Risk Frameworks, Fraud & Financial Crime, Incident & Crisis Management, Control Frameworks and over his broad career spanning Financial Services and Tech Companies he has developed a passion for enhancing risk and control frameworks to ensure Companies are managing risk effectively.
